Colorado with Dana and Karen

We are back in Colorado and away from the Texas heat for the summer. It was so nice to get away from the 100 degree temps. Although we will be back in Texas for Delton's 50 Year High School Reunion during the July 4th weekend. More on that later!

Something new in Fun Valley is a few tree stumps that were carved into beautiful mountain statues of bears, coyotes, and more. There are many tree stumps which are the result of strong winds which swept though the park, knocking over and braking trees. What a great idea to make carvings out of them.

Friends Dana and Karen Lemmerman and Breezy their dog, came for a weekend in Fun Valley. We met them in Florida a few years ago.

Delton invited Dana to play in the Mac Henson Fun Valley Golf Tournament. It was a scramble and they came in in the middle of the pack. But they did win some drawing prizes and had a great day.

While the men played golf, Joni and Karen took off for Pagosa Springs and a day in the Hot Springs. We started out in the 100 degree pool and quickly moved to the 95 degree pool. Then on to the 85 degree pool, but ended back in the 95 degree pool. Once we got used to the hot water we could stay in the 95 degree pool a long time. The pools were very relaxing and soothing, easing our aging bones and muscles. The hotter pools burned our skin and probably raised our blood pressure. Imagine!!!! The 100 degree water was the same temp as the air in Texas!!!!!!

The hottest pool registered 113 degrees. Could anyone handle that one??

We hosted a Karaoke session while Dana and Karen were visiting. The crowd was about 150 people and all had a great time. We will do karaoke weekly in Fun Valley for the summer.

Delton is the technician and Joni is the MC. We enjoy hosting karaoke at the various campgrounds in our travels.

DFW Activities

Being back "home" we resumed our regular "home activites" We stayed at the Vineyards RV Park in Grapevine again and enjoyed seeing all our friends and family.

Joni went kayaking with Paul and Donna, seen in in our photos. Paul made a "funny face" and we thought he would love seeing his picture on the internet!!!!

Delton got a fishing license and decided to do some "jugging". He used Joni's kayak to set his lines out in the lake and checked them every morning and evening. He caught quite a few fish and we had some great fresh fish for diner many nights.

We left the DFW area and went to Lake Whitney to see Gayle and Walt Fenoglio. They have an RV and boat which they keep at the lake. Our day on the lake was very windy, but we were determined. See us enjoying the day!!!!

After leaving Lake Whitney we headed to Stamford, TX to visit with Delton's mom. While there we attended a family reunion called "Claude's Day" Claude's day celebrates the day Uncle Claude returned from WWI. Sorry, I have no pictures of the event or our stay in Stamford.

On our way to Fun Valley, CO, we stopped in Stephenville and visited some Fun Valley friends, Sam and Jody. We met them in CO a few years ago. They have a very nice set up for their full time RVing. See the photo.... a covered area with a place for storage and patio area in the back. We will see them again soon in Fun Valley.
