Jusitn and Amanda's Wedding

The day is finally here. Justin and Amanda got married. Justin is Joni's nephew. He married his long time sweetheart Amanda.

All the family came. Mom looked great! All the kids were there.

The bride and groom love motorcycles and both have Harley's, so the groomsmen all rode in on their motorcycles to make a grand entrance before the ceremony.

The day was beautiful for the outdoor garden ceremony. It couldn't be more perfect.
Joni's brother and his wife are the groom's parents and they couldn't have been more proud.

Joni and Rich's Mom was glowing in her beautiful dress and loved dancing with Justin and her other grandsons. Next step is for her to a great grandmother one of these days.

The bride and groom stayed in town for about a week to visit with family and then went to Aruba for a week long honeymoon.

Camping in New Hampshire

We're finally in New Hampshire! It's been a long trip to get here..... 2400 miles from Colorado to New Hampshire.
We camped at the Barrington Shores Campground close to Joni's brother's house and her Mom's place.

Joni's brother's son Justin is getting married to his long time sweetheart, Amanda so all the family came for the event. Joni's kids, Jim and his wife Barbara, Ken and Chris all came together and spent an evening at the campground. Joni's Mom came also.

It was great to all be together. We grilled out and enjoyed the campground and enjoyed visiting with each other. It's rare that we can all be together at the same time.

Mom still thinks we are crazy to be fulltiming in our motorhome, but this is great!

There's nothing better than being with family!

Andy and Betty's

As we continued on our cross country trip from Colorado to New Hampshire, we stopped in Vestal, NY. Our Florida friends, Andy and Betty Bonetti live there and decided to have a mini Ocean Resorts reunion at their house.

As we pulled up their street, we saw their beautiful house up on a hill. What a view they have. The fall colors have to be gorgeous.

Jean and Chuck Lockerby and Carol and Rich Quest also came and we had a great time.

One afternoon we went to the local tennis courts and had a wonderful afternoon of tennis. As you can see in the photo, Betty and Jean beat Delton and Andy. What a match. Joni enjoyed seeing the girls win!
On another day, we went to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Coopersville. It brought back many memories for us old folks. See Delton standing with Baby Ruth and Ted Williams. Also they showed an Abbott and Costello skit - "Who's on First!" That is priceless!
W also attended a pro tennis match in Binghamton. It was a prelim for the US Open. Great match!
Andy really planned well. We attended a farm team baseball game and watched the Mets play and win in extra innings. What a game.
Andy and Betty are the best! We all had a wonderful time and look forward to seeing everyone in Florida this winter.

Our Computer Crashes As We Head East

SORRY GUYS!

Our computer crashed and Delton has been in the process of "Re-BUILDING" it. What a job! Before it crashed I downloaded all our pictures that were taken during the end of July and beginning of August. Then I deleted those pictures off of my camera!

Consequently, we lost those pictures. That was a time period of about 3 weeks. Luckily Delton had backed up everything before that!

We lost:
Larry and Kathy Lehrmann's visit to us in Fun Valley.
Our visit to Dana and Karen Lemmermans in Salida, CO
Our visit to Denver to see Joni's son Ken

Our time with Larry and Kathy was great! We kayaked down the Rio Grand and had a ball. Larry hiked on the mountains around Fun Valley. And danced in the Square Dance Hall. They stayed with us in our motor home... close quarters...., but we bonded! Kathy and Larry: please send us any pictures that you took.

Then we left Fun Valley and traveled about 100 miles to visit Dana and Karen Lemmerman in Salida, CO. We hiked and biked. Again our pictures were lost. Dana and Karen: Please send us any pictures you took.

Then we traveled on to Denver, another short drive, to see Joni's son Ken. He just bought a new house in the city. We helped him with decorative ideas and went patio shopping with him. He had a neat roof patio on top of his 4 story house. Lots of steps. We also biked and enjoyed our time with him.

Then we headed east, planning on being at Joni's nephew's wedding in New Hampshire on August 20. As we drove through North Platte, Nebraska, our motor home died! Our alternator went out. After a 3 night wait and $1200 poorer, we were finally on our way.

Our next stop was in the Cleveland area, where we visited Emory and Jean Smith, friends from Florida. We stayed with them for 1 night. They had just sold their house and were in the process of moving to Florida permanently. No more snow birding for them.

From this point on, we have pictures and can start our regular posting again. If any of our friends have some pictures they can send us that were taken during this time, please do. We'd love to post them.

Ron and Trude to Colorado

Delton's brother Ron, and his wife Trude, took a trip up to Colorado with some of their friends.

We all got together quite a few times.
We went kayaking down the Rio Grand. The river was very low so we had to dodge many rocks and boulders. We even got hung up on the rocks in some of the very low spots. But, fun was had by all.
We have been hosting weekly karaoke sessions in Fun Valley and Ron's group joined us for one. See Ron, Trude, Mike and Donna singing - "I Got You Babe"! What fun!

More friends of theirs, Dennis and Becky Birdsong came down from Colorado Springs to join us. We kept staring at each other and knew we had met before. Finally after 1 day we remembered. We had met at an RV park in Austin about 10 years ago. What small world.
Ron and Trude's friends, Shirley and Kermit, own a cabin close to Fun Valley. That's where they were staying. What a beautiful place - up on a mountain.

They had the logs brought in from Canada. The house was first built in Canada, then the logs were numbered, the house was taken down and brought to Colorado. Then it was rebuilt by the number system. As you can see, it is one fine cabin!

The bed was made from logs that were on the 8 acres that Shirley and Kermit own. Pretty nice!

Delton's 50th Class Reunion

July 4th weekend, we took a trip back to Texas from Colorado to attend Delton's 50th High School Reunion - Stamford High School!

Many attended and Delton had a ball. Joni even had a great time. Delton has some great "old" friends.

Delton grew up in Stamford, Texas, a small town in west Texas. It was a class of 76 and most knew each other. Delton enjoyed seeing people he hadn't seen in 50 years, recognizing some and having trouble recognizing others.

Football was a major part of Delton's high school years. Stamford won 4 state championships out of the 5 years he attended junior high through high school. Coach Anderson was at the reunion and was presented a ball from winning the state championship game during Delton's senior year.

Speeches were made at the luncheon and Delton was one of the presenters.
We sat at the dias table, joining Delton's old girlfriend Martha and her husband Shelby. Martha told Joni some old secrets about Delton. It was so sweet!

Fun was had by all.

Colorado with Dana and Karen

We are back in Colorado and away from the Texas heat for the summer. It was so nice to get away from the 100 degree temps. Although we will be back in Texas for Delton's 50 Year High School Reunion during the July 4th weekend. More on that later!

Something new in Fun Valley is a few tree stumps that were carved into beautiful mountain statues of bears, coyotes, and more. There are many tree stumps which are the result of strong winds which swept though the park, knocking over and braking trees. What a great idea to make carvings out of them.

Friends Dana and Karen Lemmerman and Breezy their dog, came for a weekend in Fun Valley. We met them in Florida a few years ago.

Delton invited Dana to play in the Mac Henson Fun Valley Golf Tournament. It was a scramble and they came in in the middle of the pack. But they did win some drawing prizes and had a great day.

While the men played golf, Joni and Karen took off for Pagosa Springs and a day in the Hot Springs. We started out in the 100 degree pool and quickly moved to the 95 degree pool. Then on to the 85 degree pool, but ended back in the 95 degree pool. Once we got used to the hot water we could stay in the 95 degree pool a long time. The pools were very relaxing and soothing, easing our aging bones and muscles. The hotter pools burned our skin and probably raised our blood pressure. Imagine!!!! The 100 degree water was the same temp as the air in Texas!!!!!!

The hottest pool registered 113 degrees. Could anyone handle that one??

We hosted a Karaoke session while Dana and Karen were visiting. The crowd was about 150 people and all had a great time. We will do karaoke weekly in Fun Valley for the summer.

Delton is the technician and Joni is the MC. We enjoy hosting karaoke at the various campgrounds in our travels.

DFW Activities

Being back "home" we resumed our regular "home activites" We stayed at the Vineyards RV Park in Grapevine again and enjoyed seeing all our friends and family.

Joni went kayaking with Paul and Donna, seen in in our photos. Paul made a "funny face" and we thought he would love seeing his picture on the internet!!!!

Delton got a fishing license and decided to do some "jugging". He used Joni's kayak to set his lines out in the lake and checked them every morning and evening. He caught quite a few fish and we had some great fresh fish for diner many nights.

We left the DFW area and went to Lake Whitney to see Gayle and Walt Fenoglio. They have an RV and boat which they keep at the lake. Our day on the lake was very windy, but we were determined. See us enjoying the day!!!!

After leaving Lake Whitney we headed to Stamford, TX to visit with Delton's mom. While there we attended a family reunion called "Claude's Day" Claude's day celebrates the day Uncle Claude returned from WWI. Sorry, I have no pictures of the event or our stay in Stamford.

On our way to Fun Valley, CO, we stopped in Stephenville and visited some Fun Valley friends, Sam and Jody. We met them in CO a few years ago. They have a very nice set up for their full time RVing. See the photo.... a covered area with a place for storage and patio area in the back. We will see them again soon in Fun Valley.
